Block 4 brings teams back home to play against division rivals. All eyes will be on the Mighty Mays of the Premier Conference, home to all six teams with winning records. Wheeling rode a hot streak to get back into the playoff race. Mega City climbed above .500 and snagged ace Zach Gallen and elite 1b Freddie Freeman to bolster its playoff pursuit. At thge top Bellagio, Ohio and Cannon’s remain locked in a pitched battle, with only 1 game separating them. Merrimack lurks just behind 2 games out. This is shaping up to be an epic pennant race.
The Williams Division may not be as star studded, but it’s got a race of its own. Shoreline endured a rough month and Arizona caught up to tie for the division lead. Northwoods is 5 back, and just a couple games back in the playoff wild card race.
The National Conference is wire-to-wire #1 seed hopeful Ancaster, still easily lapping the field with a 9 game lead for the automatic promotion and playoff seeding. The gap closed just a bit with stronger pushes from Tuscany and Wassau in the DiMaggio division. Tuscany moved into first for the first time, the Barrel Men are only a game back and Galesburg, Montana and San Francisco are locked up at .500. One of these teams will be on the outside looking in for the playoff tournament barring a major shake up.
On the individual front, Tuscany’s Bryce Harper remains the anchor of the offense, boosting his Champions League leading batting average to .350, and an overall slash line of .350/.455/.561. Belaggio’s Kyle Schwarber leads in HRs with 29, one ahead of Cannon’s Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani also has a league leading 60 runs scored and 12 intentional walks.
Wheeler’s St. Louis Circa 198Os small ball offense is lead by Ruiz’s 58 stolen bags. Doyle has 22, Stott, 21, and Kim 17. Probably more stunning is Wheeler’s Miles Mikolas is tied for the league league in wins with the Trekkers Pablo Lopez and Kyle Hendricks. What the…?
Helping to explain Ancaster’s surging lead is the fact the the top two ERA leaders, Castillo and Wells pitch for the Royals. Tough to score in Ancaster.
Block 4 should be moving day for some teams as the divisions again go head to head. Good luck and play ball!
